The Perkins Building is named for Congressman Carl D. Perkins from the Seventh Congressional District of Kentucky, an outspoken advocate of student aid programs, including federal scholarships, work study, and student loans. The building, constructed in 1980, is a multi-purpose, three-story brick structure designed for public use as a complete conference center and site for short-term non-credit special activities.
