Richmond Tourism official elected President of Kentucky Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau

Richmond, KY—January 6, 2024—Lori Murphy-Tatum, Executive Director of the Richmond Tourism Commission, will serve as the 2024 President of the Kentucky Association of Conventions and Visitors Bureau (KACVB). Murphy-Tatum and other KACVB officers were elected by the Association’s membership at the December 2023 meeting in Henderson, Kentucky. 

“The Kentucky travel industry is one of Kentucky’s premier economic generators and it is an honor to serve as the president of the association that represents a sector of that industry,” Murphy-Tatum said. “KACVB will be working hard this year to maximize the awareness  of tourism to Kentucky’s elected leaders and policy makers. The economic impact, jobs, and tax revenue that tourism produces for our state / communities is remarkable. The power of partnership is visible in the Kentucky Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus, the voice for one of Kentucky’s most viable economic generators.”

KACVB represents all of Kentucky’s tourism directors. Kentucky Tourism’s a total economic impact of $12.9 billion, supports 91,668 jobs, and generates $937 million in local and state tax revenue. This Association services to the industry includes education, legislative awareness, issues management, trend identification, and professional development.
